One of the most remarkable traditions of America, summer camps began in 1800’s. Set among the country’s most beautiful and remote landscapes, today there are over 12.000 summer camps catering to nearly ten million children annually. Camp USA is a cultural exchange program with many benefits. It allows young people to better understand and embrace the American culture, its people, and its country. It helps improve the confidence, responsibility and communication skills of young people as well as develop their life experience. Obtaining a job as a camp counselor is one of the best ways to build an impressive resume.
There several types of camps in the USA and every camp may be unique and vary depending on location, environment, activities, facilities and campers. All the camps GEC works with are carefully vetted and share our high standards, as well as those of the American Camp Association (ACA) The majority of GEC Camp USA participants are placed in traditional camps, which can be co-ed or serve only female or male campers.
Regardless of camp type, all camps share the same common goal- to provide a safe, fun and rewarding experience for every camper.
