Program Types and Costs

Program Type	Description	Fee
Full Placement Program	This program includes creating and adding your profile to the database, where GEC Partner Camps have the opportunity to select candidates for potential hiring. Please note, that placement is not guaranteed. Host Camps make the final hiring decisions. Visa Denial refund $85	$185.00
Returning to Camp Program	Returning applicant is someone who has previously worked as a camp counselor at GEC Partner Camp and is returning for another season. Please be aware that we have a limited number of visa slots allocated for the Returning to Camp program. These slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended to complete your application promptly to secure your spot in the program. Can be paid by camp, applicant or split. Visa Denial Refund $385.	$685.00
Self-Placement Program	A self-placement candidate is someone who have secured a camp job independently and only require J-1 sponsorship services. Can be paid by camp, applicant or split. Visa Denial Refund $385.	$685.00

Program pre-departure orientation and materials

J1 compliant medical insurance policy for the duration of your program

Mandatory U.S. government SEVIS fee payment*

DS-2019 form

24 hour emergency support while in the U.S.

Monitoring of program in the U.S.

*Note: The $35 mandatory SEVIS fee (SEVIS – the U.S. government database that is used to create their DS-2019 Form and monitor their time in the U.S.) is included in the GEC program fee but is paid directly to the U.S. government. This fee is subject to change per the U.S. Department of State.

Flights and Transportation

Any flight or travel expenses before your program, including change of ticket fees, or during the program, including costs to return home early due to withdrawal or program termination, are exchange visitor’s responsibility and will not be arranged or provided by GEC.
