  1. Having an Exchange Visitor Teacher visa, you will legally work in a U.S. K12 school as a full-time teacher for up to 5 years
  2. You will be paid on the same salary scale as U.S. teachers. You can make an annual salary (12 months) between $38.000 and $60.000 before taxes and withholdings. Salary is based on experience and placement location.
  3. Your spouse or children (dependents) can accompany you to the U.S on a J2 visa.

Who is eligible?

You must satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria given below to participate in Teach USA program.

  • Degree in education equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum two years of full-time teaching experience as a primary or secondary school teacher
  • Advanced proficiency in oral and written English

HOW IT WORKS?

How much do teachers in overseas make a year?
  1. Complete the online application form to provide details about your teaching experience, educational background, country of residence, and any accompanying family members.
  2. We carefully review every qualified application. If your application is accepted, you will be invited to participate in a Zoom interview to discuss your application and evaluate your compatibility with our programs.
  3. We share your information with U.S. school districts that are interested in hosting international teachers. We notify you if a school is interested in hiring you or speaking with you by phone or Zoom about a teaching position.
  4. After you accept a job offer, we will send you the documents you need to apply for a J-1 visa.
  5. Once you get your visa, we will send you a Teach USA participant guide explaining all the details you should know and do before and after your arrival. We will also help you with travel arrangements, and airport transportation.
  6. Once you arrive in the USA, we will help you to apply for social security number, arrange temporary housing and meet your school manager.
