Health and Immunication Protocols

HEALTH AND IMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS

At GEC, we place a high priority on the health and well-being of our participants and staff. In light of current global health issues, we have implemented comprehensive health protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all involved in our programs. These protocols include:

Pre-departure health screening:
Prior to departure, all participants are required to complete a detailed pre-departure health questionnaire. This helps us identify pre-existing conditions or potential health risks that may require additional attention or support during the gap year.

Vaccinations and Immunization:
We strongly advise all participants to keep their routine immunizations up to date as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and relevant health authorities. Depending on the destination and program activities, certain vaccinations or immunizations may be mandatory and should be reviewed prior to departure.

COVID-19 Preventive Measures:
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented strict protocols that are consistent with guidelines from global health organizations and local authorities. These measures include COVID-19 pre-departure testing, vaccination verification, mask-wearing, regular disinfecting, spatial distancing, and symptom monitoring throughout the program.

Hygiene and sanitation practices:
We stress the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene during travels. Our participants are encouraged to wash their hands regularly with soap and water or use the hand sanitizers provided. We ensure that accommodations and program sites maintain high standards of cleanliness and that common areas and surfaces are regularly disinfected.

Emergency Medical Assistance:
We maintain partnerships with reputable medical facilities at all of our program sites. In the event of a medical emergency, participants have access to medical professionals trained to address a variety of health issues. Our staff are also trained in first aid to provide immediate assistance if needed.

Health Insurance Coverage:
We require all participants to have comprehensive health insurance that covers them throughout the duration of the program. This ensures that participants have access to quality medical care and assistance in the event of health problems or emergencies.

Ongoing monitoring and communication:
We constantly monitor the global health situation and communicate regularly with participants about any updates or changes to health protocols. We provide participants and their families with emergency contact information and ensure there is a clear line of communication throughout the program.

Flexibility and contingency plans:
We know that circumstances can change and unexpected situations can arise. We have contingency plans in place to respond to health-related developments or emergencies. Our team is flexible and willing to adjust the program as needed to prioritize the safety and well-being of our participants.
